Knit & Crochet
This group of ladies has been getting together for over 30 years. They originally got together to share their craft styles with each other and store their items for a big sale over the holidays. Every year, this group of women organized the “Crafty Ladies’ Christmas Bazaar.” There are records going back to 1984 when this group had raised $3,500 at the year-end sale. The ladies make knitted and crocheted baby items, afghans and adult sweaters, quilts, aprons, pot holders, wreathes and just about any kind of homemade craft.
As it goes with the passage of time, this group has been dwindling and could use some “new energy.” This is a small group that welcomes new people at any time. They do not usually make any of their craft items at the Center, they save their handiwork to be done at home. The group generally sits around the table and discusses what they are working on and catches up on each other’s lives and the latest joke.
