Ways to Contribute

Cash Donations

Cash donations are the lifeblood of our agency.  We are a non-profit agency with limited governmental funding and we depend upon donations from the very community in which we serve.

Only about 50% of the Ukiah Senior Center’s budget is secured funding.  The other 50% is from donations from community members.    We could not operate without these generous community-based contributions.  Cash donations are most appreciated. A direct donation requires no staff time as compared to the many hours attributed to fundraising events.  Donations are allocated to the most pressing need and are the life blood of what keeps us in business.

DONATE ONLINE: Use credit card/paypal or, mail your check donation to Ukiah Senior Center, 499 Leslie Street, Ukiah Ca. 95482

Memorial and Special Donations

A thoughtful way to send condolences to a family member regarding one of their own who has passed away is a memorial contribution to the Center.  It’s more lasting than flowers and the donation can be earmarked in a way that best acknowledges the person who passed away.

The same philosophy is used to honor someone or a consider gifts for a special event.  Why not ask guests to think of the Senior Center in lieu of gifts.  A special card will be sent to the person giving the donation as well as notifying the family of the donation.

Program Item Donations

When you are out shopping, think of adding an item to your cart that we could use.  A little from everyone can go a long way.  Items that we regularly need for Lunch Bunch and the Dining Room are:  coffee, filters, paper plates (small and large), salad toppings (kidney beans, beets, olives, garbanzo beans) plastic forks and spoons, juices (tomato, apple, pineapple, grape, cranberry), decaf coffee, non-dairy coffee creamer, sugar free hot chocolate,  Clorox wipes, napkins, Kleenex, and baby wipes.

Shares Card

Food Maxx, Lucky or SaveMart have a program in which they contribute up to 3% of qualified purchases to Non-profit organization s through cards which are used by customers.  The Ukiah Senior Center is signed up as an authorized agency and has cards on file to be handed out to individuals who want to support us.  And what an easy way for your grocery purchases to not only feed your family but support the Center.  With every swipe of your card, the amount of our expected donation grows.  Because of this generous Shares Card program, the Ukiah Senior Center receives over $1,000 a quarter.  Go ahead, stock up on needed items and swipe your card knowing you are helping out!

If you would like to join this effort, just give the Administration office a call at 462-4343 and ask to have a card sent to your home.  Thank you!
