Quilting Group
This is a group of experienced and talented ladies who get together once a week to sew. The room is well-lit and equipped with tables, chairs and convenient plug-ins. The ladies bring in their current projects which usually consist of a quilt or a wall hanging. Most of the items made in this setting are donated to either the Center at the year-end sale or to another worthy cause. Over the years, the group has contributed to natural disaster causes such as the Haiti relief effort, the Louisiana hurricane effort and others. Another favorite reason to sew is to make quilts of valor for wounded service men.
This group welcomes others with similar skills who want to donate their expertise and completed projects to such worthy causes. It is one day each week when sewing takes precedence over everything else. Bring your project, sewing machine and lunch and enjoy this talented group of ladies sharing the joy of sewing and visiting. Space is limited so if there is not room, your name will be added to the waiting list.
