“After my husband’s surgery, I suddenly found that we were in need of a wide array of medical equipment due to his limited ability to get around. After spending money and time surveying the Ukiah area on what was available, I thought about the Ukiah Senior Center Thrift store. I shop at the Thrift Store rather frequently and I thought maybe they might have some recycled equipment. Well, to my amazement, the Center actually had everything I needed to help me keep my sanity and my budget. I was able to get a rolling walker and other supplies. And it was all FREE. They provide this wonderful resource of donated medical equipment that they loan out to others in need; all they ask is that the medical equipment be returned when it is no longer needed. I found their help a lifesaver. I had never really thought about what the Ukiah Senior Center did—I had only been to the Thrift Store for good deals and to visit my friend, the Manager, Cindi Mohr. I’m thrilled that I have stumbled upon this resource and am amazed at all of the services and activities that they offer. A big thank you to everyone involved with keeping this agency in our community.”
